After their meet in Hampden-Sydney on Saturday, the Quakers traveled back down stateside to Cary, N.C. to dual the William Peace Pacers at Triangle Aquatic Center. Guilford lost the matchup, 71-16.
In the 200 free,
Knox Butka tallied a second-place finish with a time of 3:21:71.
Ashley Linden kept pace in the 50 backstroke, and recorded third with a time of 39:57.
Quakers
Allie Rodriguez and
Hannah Lambeth finished third and fourth in the 50 breaststroke, respectively, with times of 40:04 and 55:34.
Kiersten Walker recorded Guilford's best individual finish with third in the 50 freestyle, recording a 35:33 time.
Josephine Hemmer completed finishes in the 100 free and 100 individual medley. In the free, Hemmer finished fourth (1:12:78) and third in the IM (1:25:57).
On the team's performance this weekend, Coach
Brooks Doughtie commented, "This weekend of racing strong swim teams with St. Mary's (MD) and William Peace is going to prepare us for the ODAC in 2 weeks. Had almost a dozen season best efforts over the weekend, so we are swimming stronger in the meets where it really counts. Proud of the effort of the student athlete's with the long weekend of swimming".
GC returns to swim action for the ODAC Championships from February 7- February 10 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
