RALEIGH,N.C.- The Guilford College swimming team traveled to Pullen Aquatic Center in Raleigh, N.C. on Friday afternoon to participate in the William Peace invite. Guilford placed 9th overall over the weekend.
Participating schools included the University of Lynchburg, Roanoke College, Barton College, Hollins University, Greensboro College, William Peace University, Chowan, and Columbia University.

The Quakers participated in four relay events, delivering strong efforts across the board. The 200-yard Medley Relay team of Fox, Crafton, Jacocks, and Butts secured a 12th-place finish with a time of 2:23.72. In the 200-yard Free Relay, Crafton, Butts, Jacocks, and Fox finished 13th, clocking in at 2:03.67. The 400-yard Medley Relay team of Santana, Crafton, Jacocks, and Butts placed 10th with a time of 5:25.15. Finally, in the 400-yard Free Relay, Jacocks, Fox, Crafton, and Butts finished 12th at 4:33.08.
Butts had a busy meet, competing in several events. She placed 23rd in the 500-yard Free with a time of 7:37.50 and 35th in the 50-yard Free, finishing in 33.23. She also swam the 100-yard Breast, securing a time of 1:38.62.
Butka participated in three races. She placed 39th in the 50-yard Free with a time of 35.79 and finished the 100-yard Back in 1:36.37. Butka concluded her meet with a 46th-place finish in the 100-yard Free at 1:23.73.
Crafton showcased her versatility across multiple events. She placed 19th in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:26.23 and 23rd in the 100-yard Breast, finishing in 1:24.03. Crafton also placed 34th in the 100-yard Free at 1:04.38 and earned 17th in the 200-yard Breast with a time of 3:06.43.
Fox competed in three individual events. She placed 36th in the 50-yard Free with a time of 33.24 and 20th in the 100-yard Back, finishing in 1:24.17. Fox wrapped up her solo events with a 41st-place finish in the 100-yard Free, clocking in at 1:12.26.
Jacocks had a notable meet, starting with the 200-yard IM, where she placed 18th with a time of 2:41.52. She also swam the 100-yard fly, finishing 19th in 1:09.65. In the 100-yard Breast, she placed 25th with a time of 1:25.27. Jacocks concluded her individual events with a 31st-place finish in the 100-yard Free, recording a time of 1:01.83. This was Jacocks' final race, as she steps away from competition for personal reasons. Her contributions this season have been invaluable, and she will be deeply missed.
Santana participated in two solo races. She placed 41st in the 50-yard Free with a time of 36.52 and 23rd in the 100-yard Back, finishing in 1:31.83.
Guilford's next event will be on January 18, 2025 as they look to travel to cross-town rival Greensboro College, to participate in a quad-meet. Start time is to be determined.
