Guilford College Athletic Communications

General Information
The Guilford College Athletic Communications Office serves as the liaison between the Quakers' 22 nationally-recognized sports and local, state, and national media outlets. The athletic communications staff works closely with the coaches, student-athletes and the College to enhance the publicity efforts and showcase the accomplishments of Guilford student-athletes in competition, the classroom, and in the Greensboro community. Guilford College is a proud member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III  within the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), as well as the sport-specific organizations, the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) (Rugby), and USA Triathlon (Triathlon).
 
The Athletic Communications office maintains information on all current student-athletes, as well as historical information on previous student-athletes and Quakers Athletics in general. For information, interviews, photo shoots and/or file photos, please call, email a request, or stop by our office. The Guilford Athletic Communications office is located within the athletic director's suite above the Ragan-Brown FieldHouse in the College's Physical Education Center.

Oversees all aspects of athletic communications for Guilford College Athletics, including, but not limited to; media relations, website management, social media, writing, stats, records, video streaming, gameday experience/operations, photos, and distribution of media credentials.

New Student-Athlete Biography Form
New student-athletes to Guilford College are asked to fill out the following form that includes basic biographical information (LINK).
Current student-athletes can send any requested revisions to their bio information, including height, weight, major, or any other data, directly to the Director of Athletic Communications, Bryce Johnson, with revisions being done in as timely a manner as possible.
 
Statistical Changes
For statistical changes, student-athletes should to go through their team's coaching staff. From there, coaching staffs are able to review the play, provide evidence, and approach the Athletic Communications Director with changes. Change requests should not come directly from student-athletes and/or family members.
 
Media Credentials
Requests for media credentials for either the purpose of broadcasting, or the photos/videos should be made at minimum three days prior to an upcoming contest. Please direct requests to the Director of Athletic Communications, Bryce Johnson, see above for contact information.

Photography/videography credentials are distributed on a case-by-case basis, largely to affiliated university/athletics photographers or reputable media outlets ONLY.

Prior to the distribution of a photography/videography credential, an interested party must fill out the Photography/Videography Liability Form. (LINK)

Submission of the Photography/Videography Liability Form acknowledges the waiver of liability to Guilford College and Guilford College Athletics to the damage of any equipment, the personal injury of any individuals, or other related incidents involving individuals who have been distributed a photography/videography credential for the 2025-26 Athletic/Academic year. 

Submission of this form is MANDATORY for the distribution of a photography/videography credential to Guilford College Athletic events. The failure to obtain a photography/videography credential, or the lack of presence of a photography/videography credential with subsequent photography/videography at the level of the playing surface is strictly prohibited with the consequence being the removal from the site of competition and potential further action by Guilford College and Guilford College Athletics.
Per NCAA guidelines, credentialed photographers/videographers are limited to shooting in the designated areas along the competition surface. Please contact the Director of Athletic Communications for details.

Photographers/videographers retain the rights to a photo/video credit when published by Guilford College, affiliated media outlets, conference publications, or otherwise, but do not retain the right to the sale of photos/videos to anyone else, including student-athletes.
 
Interviews
Members of the media wishing to conduct interviews, in either a post-game or non-post-game setting, are asked to contact the Director of Athletic Communications, Bryce Johnson, see above for contact information. If an interview is desired with a player, the athletic communications office will serve as liaison between the player and media. For coaches, weekday mornings are generally the best time and should be scheduled through the athletic communications office.
 
Post-game Procedures
Post-game interviews with Guilford coaches and players will be conducted following a 10-minute "cooling-off" period. Members of the sports information staff will be available to assist in arranging post-game interviews and should be present during the interview, please contact the Director of Athletic Communications, Bryce Johnson, see above for contact information. Basketball coaches will not be available until after their radio interview. Complete statistical packets can be disseminated to the media upon request as soon as they are completed following the game.
 
Game Day Services for Media
Media are invited to work in the designated areas of respective Guilford venues. Seating is very limited, so we ask that you please contact the Director of Athletic Communications, Bryce Johnson at least three days prior to an upcoming event to arrange a spot, otherwise seating will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, see above for contact information. Wireless internet is available at most facilities. Working members of the media will be provided with game notes and other materials upon request. Statistics will be provided at appropriate breaks and at the conclusion of the game upon request.
