GREENSBORO, N.C. – The encore to one of the most-successful seasons of the past three decades for the Guilford College volleyball team has taken shape as the Quakers seek their fourth-straight trip to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) tournament in year two under Chris Miron, and announced their 2026 schedule on Wednesday morning.

Despite a second coaching change in as many summers, 2025 saw Guilford pick up right were they left off at the end of 2024, finishing 18-9, a mark that is good for their second-best final record since all the way back in 1993. Along the way, GC went 6-6 in ODAC play and secured the sixth seed in the conference tournament, although they were eliminated by the eventual league runners-up, Bridgewater College. Now, with stability on the bench and an abundance of fresh faces entering the fray eager to fill the roles of the standout graduates, the Quakers hope to make it four postseason berths in a row for the first time since pre-COVID.

"My hope is that we will use last year's momentum to propel us into a successful 2026 campaign," Head Coach Chris Miron said. "Granted there are some big shoes to fill as we turned over quite a crew of seniors that played a large role for us but, we have plenty of new faces and talent coming in to fill those roles. We will be quite young this season compared to last year but, ultimately, we are shooting for another ODAC playoff berth and advancing further in the postseason tournament. We have plenty of work to do but, I feel that we have got the crew to make good things happen this season. They are hungry to get started!"

Before the regular season gets underway, Guilford will host a single scrimmage, playing host to Pfeiffer University on Thursday, August 27 at 6:00 PM as the intrastate rivals clash for a warmup ahead of what will be a very busy month of September for the Quakers.

Opening the regular season, GC will scoot down to Raleigh, N.C., visiting Meredith University for a single nonconference clash on Tuesday, September 1 at 6:00 PM. While a cluster of them are tournaments, that matchup is the first of nine-straight either on the road or at a neutral venue to open the 2026 campaign for the cardinal and grey, as they follow that up by travelling up to Danville, Va. to partake in the Cougar Classic for the third consecutive year. The Quakers will play a trio of matches across Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, first drawing Greensboro College for a 4:00 PM clash before heading back up to play Bob Jones University and Salem College on day two.

While they will only be at the midway point of their season-opening road trip, Guilford does come back to the Gate City next, playing their second matchup in five days with the defending USA South Champions and crosstown rivals, the Pride of Greensboro College on Wednesday, September 9 at 7:00 PM. The Quakers finally wrap up their lengthy road stretch after that by returning to the state capitol to compete in the Raleigh Invitational for the fourth consecutive year, drawing LaGrange College and Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte on Friday, September 11 then Sewanee and Piedmont University on Saturday, September 12.

Guilford follows that up with their long-awaited home-opener inside the Ragan-Brown FieldHouse, finally hosting a match and as it turns out, it will also be the Quakers' ODAC-opener as Hollins University comes down to the GSO on Wednesday, September 16 for a 7:00 PM clash.

They are not afforded the luxury of getting too comfortable at home just yet though, as GC does hop on a bus again the ensuing Friday, September 18, heading down to the Queen City for the first of their three tri-matches of the fall. JWU-Charlotte will play as host with Regent University also in attendance.

Guilford follows that up, with a well-earned extended stretch at Jack Jensen Court, first hosting Salem for the second time on the season, then more-or-less settling into ODAC play full time. The Spirits will visit on Tuesday, September 22 for a 6:00 PM match. The first weekend of ODAC pod play follows as GC hosts Eastern Mennonite University on Friday, September 25 then Shenandoah University on Saturday, September 26 at 6:00 PM and 11:00 AM respectively. The SU matchup is the team's headliner of the Saturday, but the encounter will be expanded to a tri-match with Carolina University making the trip over from Winston-Salem to also participate. Wrapping up the homestand with their 17^th and final match of the opening month, the Quakers host Randolph College on Wednesday, September 30 at 7:00 PM.

The cardinal and grey complete nonconference play for good that weekend, venturing to Rock Hill, S.C. for their final tri-match of the campaign, battling a tandem of NCCAA squads, Paine College and the hosts, Clinton College at 10:00 AM and noon on Saturday, October 3.

It is ODAC action from there on out for GC, with the University of Lynchburg first visiting for a 2024 ODAC Quarterfinals rematch on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:00 PM.

The Quakers hit the road after that, first playing their second pod weekend of the fall, heading to Virginia for a couple of days of league play on Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10, visiting Randolph-Macon College then Batten University at 7:00 PM and 11:00 AM respectively. The ventures to The Old Dominion continue the ensuing week as GC visits Roanoke College at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, October 14 then Sweet Briar College on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 PM.

Concluding their home slate, Guilford welcomes the tandem of teams who played for the ODAC Championship last November in the final pod weekend of the year. It will be a 2025 ODAC Quarterfinals rematch on Friday night, October 23, as Bridgewater visits before perennial favorite and the reigning conference champions, Washington & Lee University, comes to the Gate City to play on Saturday, October 24 at noon for what will be the Quakers' senior day.

Wrapping up the regular season, GC makes the quick trip up Route-29 to battle Averett University on Wednesday, October 28 at 6:00 PM.

Provided the Quakers crack the postseason field of eight, their quest for their first league crown since 1993 would open on Tuesday, November 10 with subsequent rounds played on Thursday, November 12 and Saturday, November 14.
