GREENSBORO, N.C. – Riding a six-match winning streak and one of their most successful seasons in recent history, the sixth-seeded Guilford College women's volleyball team will travel to Bridgewater, Virginia, to face the third-seeded Bridgewater College Eagles in the Quarterfinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament on Tuesday, November 11, at 6:30 PM inside Nininger Hall.
The Quakers (18-8, 6-5 ODAC) enter the postseason with confidence, closing the regular season on a tear — winning their last six matches and an impressive 33 of their last 37 sets. Under the direction of Head Coach Chris Miron and Assistant Coach Julia Mainwaring, Guilford has emerged as one of the conference's most balanced and resilient teams.
Bridgewater (19-7, 8-3 ODAC) earned the No. 3 seed after another strong campaign, but the Eagles will surely remember their October matchup with the Quakers, a four-set upset that marked Guilford's first victory over Bridgewater in six years. The Quakers showcased their depth and determination in that match, a theme that has continued as the team has battled through injuries with several underclassmen stepping up in key roles.
Guilford's balanced attack has been driven by standout performances across the roster. Natalie Moore (Talbott, Tenn.) leads the charge with 299 kills, ranking fifth in the ODAC, while also standing sixth in the league with 48 service aces. Chrisbel Alcantara (San Juan, Puerto Rico) provides steady offensive firepower with 258 kills, placing 10th in the conference, and Kaci Johnson (Winterville, N.C.) adds another reliable option at the net with 181 kills on the season. On defense, Vivian Cavataio (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) anchors the back row with 315 digs—ninth in the ODAC—followed by Zoe Whisnant (Greensboro, N.C.), who has contributed 246 digs to rank 20th in the league. At the setter position, Jillian Mapes (Hodges, S.C.) has been a catalyst for the Quakers' offense, dishing out 838 assists, placing second in the ODAC. Up front, Madison Duvall (Sophia, N.C.) continues to dominate at the net with 78 total blocks—third in the conference—while also ranking eighth in hitting percentage at an impressive .269.

Tuesday's showdown promises to be another hard-fought contest between two surging programs.
Head Coach Chris Miron emphasized the team's preparation and identity heading into the matchup. "Over the past few weeks we've really tried to focus on our pace of play," Miron said. "We are typically at our strongest in fast-paced sets. We're also going to need to score our own points — there aren't going to be a lot of points given to us on errors, so earning points through our execution will be key as well."
With momentum, confidence, and history on their side, the Quakers will look to keep their season alive and advance to the ODAC Semifinals.
