PREVIEW: Fifth-Seeded Women’s Basketball Draws Fourth-Seeded Shenandoah In ODAC Quarterfinals

Quakers and Hornets square off for the first time since 2017-18 season in the conference tournament.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The fifth-seeded Guilford College women's basketball team (18-7, 9-7 ODAC) will travel up Interstate-81 to Winchester, Va. to start their quest for their sixth conference championship inside James R. Wilkins Jr., Athletics & Events Center on Wednesday, February 25 to clash with the four-seed, Shenandoah University (19-6, 11-5 ODAC) in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament Quarterfinals, tipping off at 7:00 PM.

The opening clash between these two squads was the battle for the ages. Guilford and Shenandoah met back on January 30th, competing in an overtime thriller that went in the favor of the Quakers, 80-75 inside the Ragan-Brown Field House. As of late, Guilford's scoring production has diminished throughout their three-game losing streak to close out the regular season. The Quakers would go on to finish 18-7 overall and 9-7 in ODAC play. Guilford would go on to clinch their 16th-straight ODAC Tournament berth on the heels of their fourth-straight over-.500 season overall and in conference play. Guilford began the season on a historic 11-0 run, going undefeated in non-conference play. Although there have been some bumps in the road throughout conference play, all that matters is that the Quakers are in the dance. As for Shenandoah, they are seeking revenge after their heartbreaking loss at Guilford a month ago, meeting together for the first time since the 2017-18 season in the ODAC Conference Tournament. The Hornets are looking to rebound to their 2022 NCAA Tournament form after finishing 19-6 overall and 11-5 in ODAC play.
