The Guilford College women's swimming made the trek to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on the Salem College Spirits and the Pfeiffer University Falcons in a tri-meet. The Quakers split on the afternoon, besting the Spirits 135-17 and falling to the Falcons 94-86.
The afternoon was jump started by the grouping of
Carrie Greene,
Nili Ocran,
Kiersten Walker and
Faith Ingram in the 200 Medley Relay. The quartet finished the race with a time of 2:39.32.
Hannah Lambeth picked up the first win of the afternoon for the Quakers with a time of 20:50.61 in the 1000 Free. Lambeth also swam the 100 Breast (2:13.40) and the 200 Breast (4:47.55).
Ingram had a strong day as she finished first in the 200 Free, stopping the clock at 3:00.73. The freshman also swam the 100 Free (1:21.78) and the 500 Free (8:54.96), placing second in both.
Morgan Lawson also took part in the 200 Free with a time of 3:31.80 followed by the 50 Free (33.86) and the 100 Free (1:38.29). Walker claimed the top spot in the 200 Back, hitting the wall in 3:11.43. Walker also finished second in the 100 Back and 100 Fly with times of 1:28.47 and 1:39.47, respectively.
Ocran continued the strong Guilford performance with places in the 100 Breast (1:47.78) and the 50 Free (46.53) while placing second in the 200 Breast with a time of 4:25.34. Greene rounded out the day for GC with second place finishes in the 200 Back (3:26.32) and the 200 IM (3:35.69) while also taking home third in the 100 Back (1:31.98).
Guilford returns to the Triad for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center from Wednesday, February 8 through Saturday, February 11.
