The Guilford College men's golf team traveled Savannah, Georgia for the Savannah Invitational hosted by Berry College (Ga.). After the 54-hole event, the Quakers finished tied for 13.
After the three rounds, Guilford finished with a team total of 901. Leading the way was
James Alden. The sophomore had a 54-hole total of 223 (71-74-78) and finished tied for 33 overall. Behind Alden was
Michael Vick and
Jake Girouard as they carded 225.Â
Vick went 81, 72, 72 while Girouard shot 67, 82, 76 for the three rounds. Vick notched a hole-in-one on the 11th hole in the second.
Evan Mendyk and
Parker Cumbea completed the five for GC with 231 and 239, respectively.
Huntingdon claimed the team title with a total score of 852. Christopher Newport, Methodist, Carnegie Mellon and Piedmont rounded out the top five. The low medalist was Pearse Lucas from Sewanee with a three round score of 207.
Guilford will return to the peach state on March 18 through March 20 for the Jekyll Island Collegiate at Pine Lakes.
