The Guilford College men's golf team traveled to Alabama for the Wynlakes Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Huntingdon College. The Quakers finished seventh out of 18 with a team score of 603 (301-302).
Michael Vick led the way for Guilford after shooting a 76 for round one and then a one-under 71 in round two. Vick tied for 11th with a total of 147. Behind him was
Landon Barnes with a two-round total of 148 (72-76) and tied for 16th.
Sam Davidson and
James Alden finished tied for 38th and 46th, respectively. Davidson carded a total of 153 (78-75) while Alden shot 155 (75-80).
Evan Mendyk rounded out the five for the Quakers with rounds of 79 and 80 for the tournament.
Methodist University claimed the team title with a two-round total of 563. The Monarchs' Henry Angier, Will Campbell and Cooper Hrabak each tied for first, shooting four-under (140) over the two rounds.
Guilford will travel to Farmville, Virginia for the Tiger Invitational at Manor Golf Club. The two-day event begins on Saturday, April 2.
