RESULTS
The Guilford College women's swimming team made the short trip into Greensboro to take on the Pride. The Quakers came out victorious, 87-70.
The evening kicked off with the 200 Medley Relay as the team of
Carrie Greene,
Nili Ocran,
Kiersten Walker and
Morgan Lawson finished with a time of 2:30.22.
In the 200 Free,
Josephine Hemmer hit the wall first with a time of 2:38.28 while
Faith Ingram was second with a time of 2:45.55. In the 100 IM, Greene placed second (1:17.21) as
Megan Cessna was fourth (1:32.86).
Hannah Lambeth, Ingram and Lawson finished second, third and fourth, respectively, in the 50 Free. Shortly after, Walker and Hemmer swam the 100 Fly in 1:31.73 and 1:36.09, respectively. Cessna and Lawson were the only two in the pool for the 100 Free. Cessna finished in 1:11.98 as Lawson stopped the clock at 1:30.72.
Hemmer picked up her second win of the evening, this time in the 500 Free with a time of 7:26.46. Ingram finished third as she hit the wall in 8:09.53.
In the 100 Back, Cessna, Walker and Greene finished in that order with times of 1:20.34, 1:35.37 and 1:35.48, respectively. The next race was the 100 Breast as
Nili Ocran placed second (1:37.66) followed by Lambeth in third (2:03.97).
The final race of the evening was the 200 Free Relay as the team of Ingram, Walker, Hemmer and Cessna stopped the clock first with a time of 2:07.90. The grouping of Lawson, Greene, Ocran and Lambeth were third with a time of 2:34.88.
Guilford will travel to Sweet Briar, Virginia for a meet with Sweet Briar College and Hollins University on Saturday, October 29. Start time is 5:30 p.m.
