Quakers Finish 13th at Golfweek D3 Invite

SANDESTINE, Fla. -- The nationally-ranked Guilford College golf team rounded out the Golfweek D3 Fall Invitational in 13th place after three rounds of golf, plus-39.

HOW ITS GOING

Rookie Michael Vick continues to lead his squad on the season as he rounded out the contest tied for 36th plus-8 (75 + 71 + 75 = 221).
- Vick dropped to 37th after sitting tied for 29th after the second round, as he went even on the day (71).
Landon Barnes had the second-highest finish for the Quakers, finishing one stroke behind Vick to tie for 39th (222).
- Barnes shot 75 in the opening round, 74 in the second and 73 in the third.
Sam Davidson found himself in a six-way tie for 46th after finishing with an overall score of 224.
- The sophomore sat in 29th entering the final day after shooting one under par (70) in the second round. He shot 76 in round one and 78 in the final round.
Jake Girouard rebounded from an 80th place position in round two, to finish tied for 54th.
- Girouard shot 75, 79 and 72 for a three round total of 226 (+13)
Sophomore James Alden rounded out the Guilford golfers with his 92nd place finish.
- Alden finished the invitational with a score of 234 (R1 77, R2 77, R3 80), shooting plus-21.
Vick, Barnes and Girouard were all tied for 42nd after the opening round with matching scores of 75.
