LIGONIER, Pa. -- The nationally-ranked Guilford College golf team sits in 9th (of 13) after two rounds at the Tartan Invitational hosted by Carnegie Mellon University. Guilford is currently ranked 18th by the Bushnell/Golf Week DIII Coaches Poll.

Sophomore James Alden is currently leading the Quakers through the competition as he ties for 23rd, despite being 38th after the first round. Alden is 11-over, shooting 80 in round one before knocking off five strokes for a 75 in round two.

Next for Guilford is Landon Barnes who sits tied for 36th with a two-round score of 159. Barnes is plus-15 after going 80 and 79.

Rookie Michael Vick fell into a tie for 41st, despite leading GC after round one (T10). Vick is 160 through Day one (74, 86).

Classmates Jake Girouard and Sam Davidson have matched each other's energies posting identical scores of 83 and 78 to tie for 43rd. The pair are plus-17 heading into Day 2.
