Box Score ASHLAND, Va.---Randolph-Macon College shot 50 percent from the field from the second half to the end of the game as Guilford College fell to Randolph-Macon in a Saturday afternoon Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest over Guilford College, 77-73, in overtime.
The Quakers (8-7, 2-4 ODAC) and Yellow Jackets played to a tight Quaker advantage in the first 11 minutes of the first half before manufacturing a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 10 points, their largest lead of the half. Over the next 2:08, the Yellow Jackets countered with a 9-0 run to cut down the Quaker edge. Guilford scored the next five points over the next 1:27 and held steady through the end of the half. Guilford grew their lead to 13 for their largest lead of the contest 4:31 into the second frame before a 12-3 Randolph-Macon run cut the lead to four.
Randolph-Macon took the lead with 4:29 left in the half off of a Hannah Livermon jumper and extended the lead to seven. The Quakers scored the next six points to cut the deficit to one with 1:49 left. After a Yellow Jacket basket, Heaven Walters sunk a game-tying three-pointer with 33 seconds left, sending the game into overtime. Randolph-Macon grew a lead to as large as five and held on throughout the period to win the game.
Anais Weatherly notched her seventh double-double of the season, totaling 16 points and 14 rebounds. Lauren Ramsey and Kali Cuttaia each finished with 13 points and five rebounds while Brittany Drew totaled 12 points and four assists.
Randolph-Macon's Katie Anderson led all scorers with 19 points while adding 11 rebounds. Amber Lee came off the bench to produce the Yellow Jackets' second double-double, adding 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting with 10 rebounds. Livermon added 18 points, eight rebounds, and four steals.
Guilford shot 34.2 percent from the field while Randolph-Macon shot 38.5 percent in the contest after shooting 25 percent in the first half with seven field goals. Randolph-Macon sunk 23 foul shots in the contest, shooting 67.6 percent from the foul line. Guilford shot 17-of-22 from the charity stripe for 75 percent.
Guilford held a narrow edge in rebounds, 49-46, converting 19 offensive rebounds into 16 points. Randolph-Macon produced 12 second-chance points off 16 offensive rebounds. Both teams turned over the basketball 19 times, with the Quakers producing 22 points off Yellow Jacket miscues while Randolph-Macon produced 21 off Guilford turnovers.
The Quakers return to action Wednesday, hosting Emory & Henry Colege at 7 p.m. inside Ragan-Brown Field House.
