(12/2/06) - Visiting Guilford College held Hollins University to six second-half points in a convincing 83-26 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball win Saturday afternoon. The 57-point victory margin matches the second-largest in Guilford's women's basketball history.
The win marks the 100th of Guilford head coach Stephanie Flamini's career. Now her fourth Guilford season, she reached the 100-career win plateau in her eighth year as a head coach. Her career record stands at 100-85 and her 42 Guilford wins rank third in school history.
Less than a day after holding Randolph-Macon Woman's College to 36 points in a 68-36 ODAC win, Guilford limited Hollins to 26 points, the fourth-lowest opponent's total in school history. The Quakers forced 38 turnovers, which led to 47 points, and held their hosts to 27.3 percent field-goal shooting.
Freshman Ann Seufer led four Quakers in double-figure scoring with 20 points on six-of-eight three-point shooting. Jasmine Wood and Tracey Croner both contributed 15 points off the bench, which marked Croner's career best. Alexa Williams finished with 13 points and a game-high six rebounds. Jessica Casto matched her career high with 12 assists, the second-highest total in school history.
Kristen Booker and Emily Frost led Hollins with six points apiece.
