GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College women's basketball team enters their sixth season under Head Coach
Sarah Mathews looking for a return to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament as the program announced their 2026-27 season schedule on Friday morning.
The 2025-26 season, which ended in a one-point loss to Shenandoah in the quarterfinals round of the ODAC Tournament, saw an 18-8 (9-7 ODAC) Quaker squad put together a strong season against a tough slate of opponents. With another competitive schedule ahead, Guilford will look to build upon last season's postseason appearance while continuing to establish itself as a high-level ODAC program.
"We have complemented our typical non-conference schedule with two national-level Division III tournaments," said Mathews. "We look forward to playing elite Division III talent this season, both non-conference and within the ODAC."
Guilford opens the 2026-27 campaign right down the road with an exhibition match-up against North Carolina A&T State University on November 13 before officially beginning the season on the road at William Peace University on November 14.
The Quakers return to Greensboro on November 18 to take on Greensboro College in the latest installment of the Gate City rivalry at First Horizon Coliseum. The front end of the annual hoops doubleheader, tip-off is set for 5:30 PM. Guilford then hosts Regent University for their home opener on November 24 at 7:00 PM before opening ODAC play against Roanoke College on December 2 at 5:00 PM.
The conference slate continues with a home match-up against Bridgewater College on December 5, followed by a non-conference contest against Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte on December 12.
Guilford will then head to Atlanta, Georgia, for the TownePlace Suites Classic hosted by Oglethorpe University on December 17 and 18. The Quakers will face Asbury University before closing the weekend against LaGrange College.
Returning home, Guilford will host its annual SpringHill Suites Guilford Holiday Classic on December 29 and 30 at Ragan-Brown Field House, welcoming two elite programs in Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Johns Hopkins University, who ended the 2025-26 campaign ranked eighth in Division III, to the Gate City.
Guilford begins the new year with a January 4 home match-up against Emory University before settling into the heart of its ODAC schedule.
Among the most anticipated match-ups will be a rematch with Shenandoah University, where the Quakers will have another opportunity to take on the Hornets during the regular season as they look to build toward another postseason appearance.
Guilford will also see the return of Batten University, formerly Virginia Wesleyan University, to its conference schedule, along with a game against No. 5 in the post-season ranks, Washington and Lee University. Both contests will provide the Quakers with additional tests as they navigate the competitive ODAC slate and look to position themselves for another trip to the conference tournament.
With conference play making up the majority of the second half of the schedule, Guilford will face a steady run of ODAC competition leading into the regular-season finale at Randolph-Macon College on February 20. The Quakers will then turn their attention toward the 2027 ODAC Tournament.
