SALISBURY, N.C. – The Guilford College track & field team battled hard against numerous NCAA squads in the Livingstone Blue Bear Invitational, hosted by Livingstone College on Saturday afternoon.
Piper Campbell (Wilmington, N.C.) led female placements in the Women's 3000m, recording a total time of 12:08.24, marking out in sixth overall.
Bess Parnell (Cairo, Egypt) competed in two field events for the Quakers, finishing in 14th for the Women's Long Jump, recording a distance of 4.41m. Parnell contended in the Women's Shot Put, tossing a mark of 6.86m for 21st place, respectively.
Jaden Jones (Rocky Mount, N.C.) recorded two personal bests during the mid-distance events, placing two top-15 finishes in the Men's 200m and Men's 400m. In the Men's 200m, Jones concluded with a PR time of 22.53 for eighth place. Jones competed in the 400m, logging a PR of 50.72 to finish 13th overall. In the long-distance events,
Jeremy Harway (Apex, N.C.) highlighted a ninth-place finish in the Men's 3000m with a PR time of 10:46.56. While competing in several track events,
Cedric Blowe (Indian Trail, N.C.) marked a PR in the Men's Long Jump, landing a distance of 6.34m for sixth place.
Kayden Gaddist (Summerville, N.C.) concluded the Quakers personal bests with a second-place finish in the Men's Javelin Throw, spotting a distance of 51.96m.
Guilford returns for a local meet at the VertKlasse Meeting, hosted by High Point University on Thursday, April 2nd, through Friday, April 3rd, with the official start time to be announced.
