MILL SPRING, N.C. – The Guilford College track & field team clashed against many NCAA teams across a variety of levels in the Tryon Banked College Invite, hosted by HQ2 Running inside the Cregger Center on Friday evening.
Alyssa Daniel (Spring Lake, N.C.) led the female placements in the Women's 60m, recording a PR of 8.42, placing her in fifth overall. Daniel notched her second PR of the day in the Women's 200m, concluding with a time of 28.29, landing her 10th place in her second track event.
Bess Parnell (Cairo, Egypt) was the lone Quaker-finisher in the Women's 400m, hitting a PR time of 1:07.86 for sixth place in the rankings.
On the men's side,
Cedric Blowe (Indian Trail, N.C.) would top Guilford in his season-best time of 22.90 during the Men's 200m, landing a 9th-place finish. Blowe notched another season-high during the Men's 60m, logging a time of 7.29 for a 12th-place mark. The Quakers would highlight a second-place finish in the Men's 4X400m Relay, driven by
Yassine Allam (Holly Springs, N.C.),
Tkwon Davis (Warren County, N.C.),
Jaden Jones (Durham, N.C.), and
Trenten Torain (Durham, N.C.), with a PR time of 3:38.52. In his long-distance event, Davis would achieve a PR of 52.61 in the Men's 400m for a second-place finish. In the field events,
Kayden Gaddist (Summerville, S.C.) would reach a PR of his own during the Men's Shot Put, arriving at a distance of 10.05m for a 16th-place mark.
Guilford will return next week to race in the ODAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Roanoke College. The two-day meet is scheduled for Saturday, February 28th, through Sunday, March 1st, inside the Cregger Center, with the official start time to be announced.
