SALEM, Va. – The Guilford College track & field team faced numerous competitors across NCAA Division III in the Joe LaRocco Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College inside the Cregger Center on Saturday morning.
Bess Parnell (Cairo, Egypt) topped the female placements in the Women's Long Jump, landing a PR of 4.23m, marking her in 12th place overall. Parnell ranked out in 22nd place in the 400m, concluding with a time of 1:10.28 in her track event.
Alyssa Daniel (Spring Lake, N.C.) would place as the top-Quaker finisher in the Women's 60m with a time of 8.63, finishing 23rd overall.
On the men's side, Guilford would highlight a third-place mark in the Men's 4000m Distance Medley, displayed by
Tkwon Davis (Warren County, N.C.),
Ke'Shaun Alston (Warrenton, N.C.),
David Holland (Durham, N.C.), and
Jeremy Harway (Apex, N.C.), with a PR time of 13:05.58. In the short-distance races,
Cedric Blowe (Indian Trail, N.C.) would top Guilford in the Men's 200m, concluding with a PR-time of 23.73, finishing in 19th place overall. Davis would rank out a top of the Quakers on the leaderboard in the 400m, finalizing a PR of 53.75, marking in 13th place. In the field events,
Ahmaad Abdul-Haqq (Greensboro, N.C.) would close as the top Guilford finisher in the Men's Long Jump, concluding at a PR distance of 5.67m, ranking in 22nd place overall.
Guilford will hop back into action next week for the Tryon College Banked Invite, hosted by HQ2 Running. The one-day meet is slated for Friday, February 20th, with the official start time to be announced.
