Randolph-Macon Edges Guilford, 10-8, in Men's Lacrosse

ASHLAND, Va. – Jason Andrews scored six goals in Randolph-Macon College's 10-8 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse win over Guilford College Saturday.

Andrews tallied three times during a decisive 4-0 Yellow Jackets' spurt to start the game. Guilford rallied to within 4-3 on Chase Clausen's goal early in the third quarter, but Andrews answered two minutes later with his fourth goal and Randolph-Macon regained its two-goal edge.

Thomas Deane made seven of his game-high 11 saves in the second half, which helped Guilford stay close. Daniel Hughey's goal off a Juquan Tellis assist made the score, 8-6, after three quarters.

Andrews scored twice to start the fourth quarter, which restored a 10-6 Randolph-Macon lead. Adam Fiore scored twice in a 31-second span with four minutes left in regulation to provide the final margin.

Randolph-Macon's Nick Benhoff scored just once, but won 13-of-19 face-offs and collected a game-best six ground balls. Justin Butler had a goal and an assist for the Yellow Jackets. Thomas Smith made seven saves in goal and picked up four ground balls.

Taylor Teodosio tallied twice for Guilford. Tellis added a goal and an assist. Senior Nick Mann dished out a game-high three assists for the Quakers. Deane added five ground balls to his 11 saves in goal.

Guilford hosts nationally ranked Roanoke College Wednesday (4/17) at 7:00 p.m. in an ODAC game.
