Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. (4/10/10) -- Lynchburg College had 13 different goal scorers in a 20-4 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's lacrosse win over visiting Guilford College Saturday night at Shellenberger Field.
The Hornets (9-4, 4-1 ODAC) are ranked 15th in this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Poll.
After Guilford's Chris Sisk opened the scoring with just over 10 minutes into the game, Lynchburg reeled off the next 16 goals. Tyler Burford, Max Voumard and Aaron Khouri all scored three times to pace the Hornets' offense. Dylan Hoff added four points on two goals and two assists. Burford had an assist and also finished with a game-high four points.
Lynchburg outshot the Quakers, 53-21, and had 59 ground balls to Guilford's 39. Brennen Green won five of seven face-offs for the Hornets, who won 15 of the game's 25 draws. Green and Khouri shared team-high honors with five ground balls apiece. Franc Cook, the first of three Lynchburg netminders, made three saves in over 39 minutes in goal.
The Quakers' Daniel Dowd shared game-high goal-scoring honors with three tallies, all in the fourth quarter. Junior goalie Mark Guillen made 14 saves and scooped up a game- and career-best 141 ground balls.
Guilford plays at nationally ranked Roanoke College Wednesday (4/14) in a 4:00 p.m. ODAC match.
