Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (3/27/10) -- Tim Homa scored four goals and two assists to lead Virginia Wesleyan College to a 17-6 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse win over Guilford College Saturday.
Homa, Shaun Fitchpatrick and Russ Kok all scored twice in the first half as the Marlins took a 9-1 halftime lead. Virginia Wesleyan (6-3, 1-1 ODAC) scored the second half's first four goals and led, 13-1, before Daniel Dowd scored back-to-back goals for Guilford (1-9, 0-2 ODAC).
The Marlins had 10 different goal scorers and outshot Guilford, 41-29. Kok finished with four points on three goals and one assist. Fitchpatrick and Travis Puls both scored twice. Mike Tibbs had a goal, a game-high 11 ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Dowd paced the Quakers with four goals and Jake Beneke had a game-high three assists. Teammate Chris Ashcraft had two points on a goal and an assist. Mark Guillen made 12 saves in goal.
Guilford hosts nationally ranked league-rival Washington and Lee University next Saturday (4/3) at 1:00 p.m.
