VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (2/20/10) – Kristina Jameson scored a game-high 14 points in Virginia Wesleyan's College's 63-48 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over Guilford College Saturday.

The win gave the Marlins a sweep of the season series with Guilford and improved to 15-10 (12-8 ODAC) in their season finale. The Quakers end the regular season with a 14-11 overall record (11-9 ODAC).

Jameson struck for 11 points in the first half, which helped Virginia Wesleyan open a 36-27 halftime lead. The Marlins gradually built their lead thanks to five-of-nine shooting from three-point range in the opening period.

Virginia Wesleyan's Kristen Blaylock took over in the second half, scoring all 11 of her points on five-of-seven field-goal shooting. While the Marlins cooled from long-distance in the second half (2-11), Guilford made only six-of-21 shots from the floor and could draw no closer than nine points.

Tonia Jones contributed 13 points, a game-high eight rebounds and three assists for Virginia Wesleyan. Maggie Davis added 10 points, six boards and three steals.

Sophomore Jazlyn Gibbs led Guilford with 13 points. Jasmine Wood, Alexandria Miles and Alexa Williams all had six points and five rebounds for the Quakers.

The Quakers return to action Thursday in the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals in the Salem, Va.
