Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (11/29/10) -- Jazlyn Gibbs scored 14 of her game-high 23 points in the first half in Guilford College's 79-61 home victory over Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) -rival Emory & Henry College Monday night. Gibbs also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to pace the Quakers.
Gibbs led a trio of Guilford students in double-figure scoring and helped the Quakers (3-2, 1-1 ODAC) outscore the Wasps for their first league victory of the year. Guilford senior Lauren LeFevers and freshman Morgan King both finished the game with 19 points.
Jalan McPherson paced Emory & Henry (1-3, 0-2 ODAC) with 15 points and eight rebounds. Ashlyn Baird and Courtney Brooks finished with 10 and 12 points, respectively. The Wasps cut the Quakers' 19-point first-half lead to just three points but never got any closer. Guilford closed the game on a 10-0 run.
Guilford is back in action Friday night (12/3) against Methodist University at 7:00 p.m.
