Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. (4/25/09) - The seventh-ranked and third-seeded Washington and Lee University men's lacrosse team had 15 different players find the goal in a 25-3 victory over sixth-seeded Guilford College in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament quarterfinals Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field.
The Generals (13-3) outshot the Quakers, 71-14, and took a 9-2 halftime lead. The hosts tallied 10 third-quarter goals, its most in a quarter since 1999.
Junior attackman Will Keigler tallied four goals and three assists to lead the Generals' balanced scoring on the day. Sophomore midfielder Drew Koeneman scored four goals and sophomore attackman Spence Daw had two goals and two assists. Senior midfielder Tim Skeen chipped in two goals and one assist, while junior midfielder Kevin Feeney and first-year midfielder Luke Walter both had two goals.
Senior Connor Locke, junior Matt Mason and sophomores Ned Lundvall and Jason Lumpkin all saw time in goal for Washington and Lee and combined to make four saves.
Guilford (3-12) was led by sophomore attackman Joey Chrisman's two goals. First-year midfielder Jake Beneke scored the other goal for the Quakers. First-year Ryan Walsh played 45 minutes in goal and made 14 saves. Sophomore Mark Guillen played the other 15 minutes and stopped two shots.
Washington and Lee returns to action in the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament on Wednesday at Lynchburg College. The game time for the matchup with the Hornets is to be determined.
