Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - Neal McKinney scored a game-high four points (2 goals, 2 assists), all in the first half, to lead Greensboro College past visiting Guilford College, 12-4, in nonconference men's lacrosse action Wednesday. The Pride (10-4) reached the 10-win mark for the second time in school history, while Guilford falls to 3-11.
Greensboro scored the game's first six goals thanks to McKinney's hot start. Jordan Drumheller netted both of his goals in the opening quarter, during which time the Pride outshot Guilford, 11-3.
The Quakers' Daniel Dowd put Guilford on the scoreboard 2:13 into the second quarter, but Greensboro's Nick Patrone responded with his second goal of the quarter 44 seconds later. He set up a Jose Rodriguez score midway through the period as Greensboro took a 9-2 halftime lead.
Brian Kirschner tallied twice in the fourth quarter and Bryan Mercer also had two goals. Greensboro won 14 of 20 face-offs, thanks to John Anglin's seven-for-12 effort. Will White scooped up a game-high six ground balls and caused two turnovers to pace the Pride's defense. Mike Foderaro improved to 9-3 in goal with six saves in 57 minutes.
Greg Nash paced the Quakers with two goals and five ground balls. Ryan Walsh played the first half in goal and made eight saves. Mark Guillen had six stops in the second half.
The Quakers are back in action this weekend in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament. The tournament seedings will be announced later Wednesday night. Greensboro, which posted a 9-0 home record this year, closes the regular season at Wesley College Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
