Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (12/9/09) -- Guilford downed visiting Peace, 72-50, in non-conference action on Wednesday night in the Ragan-Brown Field House. The Quakers were led by Jazlyn Gibbs' game-high 17 points. The win was the third straight for Guilford who improve to 5-3 on the season
Although the Quakers dominated the play in the first half building an eight-point lead, Peace's (3-4) Brenna Mickey and Megan Bridges rallied to keep the score close, limiting Guilford to a slim 32-31 lead at the intermission.
The second half saw the scored tied at 34 apiece just two minutes into the game before Guilford exploded for a 24-10 run to pull away over the next 12 minutes. Guilford's Ann Seufer and Alexa Williams contributed 12 and 10 points respectively to pace the Quakers for the game.
Mickey finished the game with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Pacers. Bridges added 13 points in the losing effort.
Guilford is off for the winter holiday but returns to action Sunday (1/3) on the road against Methodist at 2:00 p.m.
