Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (3/29/08) -- Zach Craft scored 2:09 into overtime to give visiting Randolph-Macon College a 10-9 Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's lacrosse win over Guilford College Saturday night in the league opener for both teams.
Guilford (2-6, 0-1 ODAC) tied the game with 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter on Joe Dauksis' unassisted goal. Randolph-Macon's JR Sander won the overtime face-off and controlled possession for the entire period before Craft scored the winning goal.
The Quakers overcame an early 3-0 deficit and led 5-4 in the second quarter, before Paul Johnsen scored the second of his game-high three goals to tie the game at 5-5 at halftime.
The Yellow Jackets' Barnes and Johnsen tallied the only goals of the third quarter, which gave the guests a 7-5 edge headed into the final quarter.
Guilford's Matt Meriwether answered with back-to-back tallies to start the fourth-quarter scoring and tie the game. Tyler Zivic's second goal of the night gave the Quakers an 8-7 lead with 8:45 to play.
Barnes and Peter LaPaglia netted back-to-back tallies, both with a man advantage, to restore the Randolph-Macon (5-2, 1-0 ODAC) advantage and set up Dauksis' game-tying tally.
Johnsen and Barnes paced Randolph-Macon with a game-best three goals apiece. Tyler Wilkins had a game-high three assists.
Meriwether and Zivic led Guilford's scorers with two tallies apiece. Todd Bochenek added two assists.
The Quakers are back in action Saturday (4/5) at league-rival Lynchburg College at 2:00 p.m.
