Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (11/15/08) -- Junior Kimberly Enoch scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, both game highs, leading Greensboro College to a 72-55 nonconference win over host Guilford College Saturday afternoon in Ragan-Brown Field House. The contest marked the season opener for both teams.
Enoch, a 5-11 center, scored 16 points and had eight rebounds in the second half, which helped the Pride build on its 30-22 halftime lead. Sophomore guard Nikki Wilborn had 13 points for Greensboro. Senior guard Dione Eccles added 14 points for the Pride and sophomore guard Ashley Burnette chipped in 10 points. The Pride's lead grew to 11 points midway through the second half.
Guilford (0-1) stormed back in the latter part of the second half and cut the lead to two with 6:14 remaining in the game. The efforts of Jessica Casto (eight points, four assists) and Jasmine Wood (five rebounds, three steals) kept the game close, while Tracey Croner and Ann Seufer led the Quakers in scoring with 11 points and nine points, respectively.
The Quakers host SUNY Purchase Friday (11/21) in the second game of the Guilford College Classic at 8:00 p.m. League-rival Roanoke College plays Meredith College in the first game beginning at 6:00 p.m.
