Guilford Overpowers Hollins, 85-40, Improves to 8-1

Roanoke, Va. (1/9/08) -- Katie Dailey scored a career-high 14 points to lead visiting Guilford College to an 85-40 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win at Hollins University Wednesday night. Dailey knocked down a career- and game-best four three-pointers that helped the Quakers match their best start (8-1, 4-1 ODAC) since 2001-02.

Rookie forward Destiny Carden also enjoyed a career night with 12 points on five-of-six shooting from the floor. The Quakers' Alexa Williams scored 11 points and junior Tracey Croner added 10 points. Junior point guard Jessica Casto added five points, eight assists and five steals.

Guilford made 23 steals, which contributed to 37 Hollins turnovers. The Quakers scored 36 points off Hollins (0-9, 0-5 ODAC) miscues) and enjoyed a 42-8 edge in bench scoring.

Krista Wolfe led Hollins with 14 points, five assists and four steals. Meaghan Collier added 12 points.

The Quakers visit nationally ranked Randolph-Macon Friday night (1/11) in an ODAC game.
