Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. (1/9/07) -- Sophomore Tracey Croner scored a game-high 25 points Tuesday night to give the Guilford College women's basketball team a 67-55 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Lynchburg College.
The Hornets led 35-31 at the break and opened a 41-33 lead after back-to-back baskets from senior Caroline Wesley. The Quakers rattled off eight-straight points to tie the score at 41 all with less than 14 minutes on the clock. Dana Esposito drilled a three-pointer and Brittany Dahn made a jumper to give Lynchburg a five-point edge, but Guilford finished the contest on a 26-9 run.
Wesley finished with 16 points, 14 rebounds, four steals and three blocks for Lynchburg (2-8/2-4 ODAC). Esposito hit three three-pointers and ended with 14 points and Dahn posted 13 points and five caroms. Amy Terry tallied seven points and five rebounds.
Croner made 10 of her 18 attempts from the field en route to her game-high point total for Guilford (7-6/6-2 ODAC). Alexa Williams had nine points and a game-high 16 rebounds, while Jasmine Wood and Joclyn Terry scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. Jessica Casto distributed nine assists.
Lynchburg hosts Washington & Lee University, while Guilford travels to Eastern Mennonite Friday at 7 p.m.
