Bochenek's career-high nine points match Guilford's 11th-highest single-game total and the program's most points since Josh Miller's '04 12-point outing against Shenandoah in 2004. Bochenek's six assists match the school's fourth-best total and the most since Miller's eight helpers in his big 2004 game.
Bochenek's last score gave the Quakers a 13-10 lead with 6:45 remaining, the game's only three-goal edge. Randolph-Macon's Brendan Toone netted his game-high fifth goal less than two minutes later and teammate P.C. Johnsen tallied an unassisted score with 2:46 left to provide the game's final margin. Ientile and Bochenek connected again 45 seconds into the third quarter, which tied the game for the seventh time. After a Colin Davis score, Bochenek converted a feed from defenseman Gates Benson on a fast break, capping a 4-0 Guilford run and opening a 10-8 Quakers' advantage midway through the third quarter. Randolph-Macon's Paul Johnsen and Toone closed out the third-quarter scoring, which made it a 10-10 game entering the final 15 minutes.
Behind Bochenek's offense and key face-off wins by rookie Dan Simpson, Guilford scored the fourth quarter's first three goals and took a 13-10 lead. Freshman Matthew Conrad's goal off a Bochenek feed 45 seconds in to the frame broke the game's eighth and final tie. Bochenek's sixth assist set up senior midfielder Bryan Borchard just over six minutes later for a 12-10 Quakers' advantage. Guilford won four of six fourth-quarter face-offs and nine of 16 ground balls.
Borchard and Ientile netted two goals apiece for Guilford, who had nine student-athletes dent the twine. Sophomore Andrew Vigne stood tall in goal with 14 saves and five ground balls. Sophomore defenseman Tyler Harrison forced three miscues and scored his second goal of the year.
Toone's five goals and one assist paced Randolph-Macon's offense. He also had five ground balls. Paul Johnsen added two goals and one assist. P.C. Johnsen had a goal and an assist in his first action in five games. Junior defender Derek Murray won 13 of 27 face-offs for the Yellow Jackets, caused two turnovers and scooped up a game-best seven ground balls.
