Box Score

Roanoke, VA-- Nicole Grant scored 11 of her game-high 19 points in the final six minutes to help host Hollins past Guilford, 61-55, in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball action Tuesday. The victory marks Hollins' (4-1, 2-1 ODAC) second over the Quakers (2-3, 0-1 ODAC) in 31 all-time meetings.

Grant's traditional three-point play with 2:26 left in regulation marked the last of the game's six lead changes and gave Hollins a 55-53 lead. Hollins held Guilford to one field goal in the final 4:50 and outscored the Quakers 13-4 in that time, with Grant scoring nine of her team's points.

Guilford erased an eight-point second-half deficit and rallied to take the lead with 7:45 left on two Dionne Graham free throws. The teams traded baskets for the next three minutes before Grant took over and Guilford went cold.

Grant made nine-of-15 shots from the floor and added a team-high seven rebounds for Hollins. Brandi Cochran added 11 points and five blocks for the hosts, who rejected nine Guilford shots.

Guilford's Jennifer King finished with 19 points and a game-best eight rebounds, but made only six-of-18 field goals. Hill scored 11 points on three-of-10 field-goal shooting. The pair scored 22 of Guilford's 35 second-half points. The Quakers shot 32.8 percent from the floor for the game, including 23.1 percent in the first half when Hollins jumped out to a 26-20 halftime lead.
