Greensboro, NC (03/02/03) - Josh Miller's four goals and two assists led Guilford past visiting Shenandoah, 10-8, in both teams' men's lacrosse season opener Sunday in the muddy Armfield Athletic Center.

Miller's fourth and final goal came at the end of a Guilford penalty and boosted the Quakers' lead to 10-5 with 4:36 left in the game.  Shenandoah rallied with three straight Elmer Baker goals, including two in the final 42 seconds, to make the game interesting down the stretch.

Sophomore goaltender Aaron Skiles made 16 saves for Guilford and helped the Quakers maintain the lead throughout the contest.  Miller tallied twice in the game's third minute to stake the hosts to an early 2-0 advantage.

Sophomore Matt Wagner chipped in a pair of goals and an assist in his first college start for the Quakers.  Junior Chip Hill also scored twice for Guilford.

Baker paced the Hornets with four goals.  Midfielder James Hernandez added two goals and an assist.  Senior goalie Dave Behan went the distance in goal and made 13 saves to go with his game-high nine ground balls.

The Quakers host Kenyon Wednesday, March 6 at 3:30 p.m.
