Randolph-Macon Posts 16-9 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Win At Guilford

Senior attackman Rick Fagan (Gaithersbrug, MD/Georgetown Prep) scored four times and junior midfielder Keith Rzucidlo (Glenmoore, PA/Malvern Prep) added three goals and four assists to lead visiting Randolph-Macon past Guilford, 16-9, in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.

Fagan netted three of his goals during a 6-1 Yellow Jackets' (5-5, 2-1 ODAC) run that broke open a two-goal game early in the third quarter.  Guilford freshmen Mark Fiore (Doylestown, PA/Bridgton Academy (ME)) and Reed Bradt (Wolfeboro, NH/Kingswood) opened the fourth quarter with back-to-back scores, which pulled the Quakers (4-5, 0-3 ODAC) to within 13-8, but Randolph-Macon scored three of the game's final four goals to secure their third win in four games.

Rzucidlo netted all three of his goals in the first half, including two during the Yellow Jackets' 5-0 game-opening run.  His unassisted tally with 8:01 left capped the spurt and established a margin the Quakers could not overcome.  Guilford sophomore Josh Miller (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) scored consecutive goals after a Bradt tally, which closed the margin to 5-3 midway through the second quarter.  Sophomore midfielder James Lentz (Ardmore, PA/Lower Merion) and Rzucidlo responded with back-to-back scores that helped the Yellow Jackets to a 7-4 halftime edge.

Miller drew the Quakers to within 7-5 after his third goal of the day, 44 seconds into the second half.  Fegan answered with an extra-man goal two-and-a-half minutes later, the first of four straight Randolph-Macon scores that effectively put the game out of reach.

Guilford visits league-rival Lynchburg next Saturday (04/06), while the Yellow Jackets remain in North Carolina for an April 1 tilt at Division II Lees-McRae.
