HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Rising the ranks from the midway point, the (RV) Guilford College men's golf team brought home a 13th place finish at the 2026 NCAA Division-III Men's Golf National Championship, completing with a team score of 1,185 (+33) at the El Campeon and Las Colinas courses at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida throughout this week.
Â
All teams played a single round at the par-71 Las Colinas course pre-cut before a trio of 18's, including the final-two rounds at the par-72 El Campeon course. After a comeback showing heading into extra holes as No. 8 national-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scrips pulled out their second-title in program history, fourth top-5Â all-time placements in the National Championship, recording a four-day team tally 1135 (-15). Sebi Allaga will claim individual medalist off his show-stopping performances to mark him out at 277 (-10), the lone player in the field resulting in double-digit red figures after four days. No. 9 nationally-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University fell off against the nationally-recognized Athenas. No 12 nationally-ranked Aurora University came to make some noise in their final day of action, collecting a team mark of 1146, receiving the bronze after taking control of their leaderboard spot.
Â
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) was well represented throughout these past few days with both (RV) Guilford and No. 6 nationally-ranked Washington & Lee University dominated in the field alongside individual Alan Van Asch from No. 21 nationally-ranked University of Lynchburg. The nationally-recognized Generals would make the cut after a shaky day one outing, before prevailing a 1157 (+7) four-day mark for sixth place as a squad. Lynchburg's Alan Van Asch held strong inside the top five of the individual leaderboard off two rounds in red figures, while faltering slightly with a 73 (+1) finish in the concluding round, ultimately tallying in red figures with a 281 (-6), marking out tied for fifth. Guilford's success throughout all rounds played a role in jumping 20 spots to make the cut for the tournament. The Quakers would jump four more spots to solidify 13th place with an 1181 (+31) four-day total.
Â
As just the second squad under the 18-team cut, ranked 17
th with a 598 (+22) team tally, the Quakers were primed to rise and they did, making major moves on day three posting a breakeven score as a collective and rising four places in the process. While they maintained their momentum on the final day, a tough finish to their first nine previewed a tough finish and a 298 (+10) final day that saw them hold their placing of 13th. GC was rather hit-or-miss in the tournament. They recorded a pair of Eagles, tied for the seventh-most in the championship, on top of 57 birdies, also even for the seventh-most, but nullified all that with 84 bogeys, the second-highest total by any team.
Â
Luke Wise (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) recorded seven total birdies within the span of the final two rounds of play. Wise only logged one double-bogey on the par-5 fourteenth which did not keep him off his game. In helping the Quakers excel on the leaderboard, Wise would go on to fire a 71 (-2) through 54 holes, while collecting a final round score of 73 (+1) for a 294 (+7) tally to award him tied for 49th overall.
Â
Larsen Gallimore (Walnut Cove, N.C.) carded a two-day score of 148 (+3) positioning him in a good spot for the rest of the tournament. Gallimore clawed back more on the leaderboard with an opening eagle on the par-5 tenth before cashing in on four more birdies for a 72 (E). Dropping off slightly in performance, Gallimore festered a lone double-bogey that led to his score not counting in the final round, driving a 297 (+10) individual tally, tied for 57th.
Andrew Perry (Fuquay Varina, N.C.) was off to a roaring start through his 145 (+2) individual score through two rounds of action. Thursday's 18 would open for Perry not off to the start that he was hoping for, with a double-bogey on the par-5 sixth to not count Perry's score of 79 (+8) to the squad. Perry would fare much better in the ultimate round, carding birdies on the par-3 second and par-4 ninth to score a 298 (+11) individual score tied for 61st overall.
Gavin Peach's (Charlotte, N.C.) andÂ
Braeden Gillen (Holly Springs, N.C.) have each been back-and-force after most previous outings at the ODAC Championship Tournament. Peach would count his round three score after an impressive five birdies to encourage a 307 (+14), tied for 71st position. Gillen scored a dominant final round after up-and-down showings the past six rounds, collecting six birdies and an eagle to finish the national championships off with a 308 (+15), becoming tied for 76th respectively.
This will conclude the Quakers fantastic season to remember for a long time.
