LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Guilford College men's soccer team saw its five-game win streak come to an end as it dropped a tough 8-2 decision at nationally-ranked Washington and Lee University on Sunday.

THE BASICS

• Records: No. 2 Washington and Lee 7-0-1 (1-0-0 ODAC), Guilford 5-2-0 (0-1-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Washington and Lee Generals are currently ranked second in all of NCAA Division III according to the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

• In goal Roman Robinson made two saves before he let up the first goal at 23:40. 

• It appeared as if it was going to be a competitive contest as Kenny Nzekwe found the back of the goal in the 28th minute to even the score. His goal was helped along by Adrian Pineda.

• The hosts were able to make the board just once more before the half, as just over two minutes remained on the clock.

• The wheels began to fall off, as No 2 WLU posted six more goals in the first 25 minutes of the second half. 

• It owned a 8-1 lead into the final minute of the contest.

• Not giving up despite the size of the task, Ryan Dole scored an unassisted tally with 18 seconds remaining in the contest.

QUAKERS' TOP PERFORMERS:

• Despite being dealt a loss, Roman Robinson stood tall in goal. Robinson made 11 saves in his 90 minutes played.

• Kenny Nzekwe continues to lead his squad in scoring, now owning 16 points on eight goals. He ranks second in the ODAC in both categories. 

• Ryan Doyle's goal is just the third of his career.

• With Sunday's assist, Adrian Pineda now has four points on the season (1 goal, 2 assists).

Guilford will remain on the road, as it travels to Shenandoah University for a 12 p.m. ODAC matchup on Saturday.
