GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College men's soccer team battled to a tough 4-3 loss against Pfeiffer University under the lights of the Armfield Athletic Center on Wednesday evening.

Guilford was extremely strong on offense to open the contest, but was slowed as Pfeiffer was able to get itself on the board with a goal in the ninth minute, despite an impressive header by Kenny Nzekwe that rang off the crossbar less than a minute later.

The Falcons pushed their lead to 2-0 at 26:38 after Cristyan Cabrera was able to run the ball down the far sideline, pull a quick spin move and make light of the keeper.

GC was able to make the board 10 minutes later as Logan Eure was able to capitalize on a penalty-kick.

Pfeiffer was able to regain a 2 goal lead with five minutes remaining in the first half to make it 3-1.

The last Falcon goal was scored at 59:26 to push their tally to four.

Guilford used this score as motivation and was able to notch two more goals before the game came to an end.

Eure scored his second goal of the contest in style, redirecting a Riley Copeland kick with his head in front of the goal with just over 18 minutes remaining on the board.

It was Copeland who owned the last tally of the game collecting as Adrian Pineda was able to collect a Nzekwe rebound and dish it in front of the goal.

Eure proved to be the most efficient offensively, converting on his two shots on goal.

The Quakers look to rebound on Saturday as they host Sewanee for a 12 p.m. matchup.
