Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Guilford College men's soccer team took down cross town rival Greensboro College in style, claiming a 3-2 overtime victory on Friday evening.
With this win, Guilford moves to 5-1 and the season, as it extends its win streak to five.
The game got off to a rocky start as the hosts were able to find the back of the goal just four minutes in. Greensboro held a 1-0 lead into the second half.
Kenny Nzekwe came out of the break, guns blazing, as he was able to put his squad on the board at 52:19. Nzekwe's goal was assisted by Logan Haustein, for Haustein's first point of the year.
It did not take long for Riley Copeland to follow suit, scoring his goal at 59:38, with the helped credited to Jasper Adringer.
The Quakers held a nice 2-1 lead for most of the second stanza, but a Pride tally with 39 seconds remaining in regulation put a damper on things.
Guilford continued to be the stronger team, finally putting an end to the affair as Logan Eure was able to beat the Greensboro keeper low left with less than four minutes remaining in overtime.
In goal, Roman Robinson had a light night, making one stop on three shots on-goal.
Copeland continues to lead his squad in points with 15 (5 goals, 5 assists), while Nzekwe trails by one (14 points, 7 goals).
Eure now has three goals on the season.
The Quakers will return to action on Wednesday as they host the Monarchs of Methodist University for a 7 PM meeting.
