HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Guilford men's soccer team earned its first shutout of the 2021 season on Sunday, March 21st, when it completed a 3-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite in Harrisonburg, Va.

The Quakers netted two of those goals in the opening frame with the first one coming at the 13:05 mark when Logan Eure drove home an unassisted goal.

Just over 13 minutes later, at 26:41, Guilford (1-2-1, 1-2-1 ODAC) took advantage of Kenny Nzekwe's unassisted shot, which reached the back of the net for the 2-0 advantage.

Nzekwe tacked on his second goal of the match at the 87:01 mark following a pass from Rodrigo Gudino.

Zach Van Kampen preserved his shutout with five saves in the match.

The Quakers had 24 shots over the course of the match, making 14 shots on goal along the way. Eastern Mennonite 0-6-1 (0-5-1, 0-5-1 ODAC) managed 12 shots over the course of the game, including five on goal. Ahmed Zaatar faced 14 shots on goal for the Royals and had 11 saves over the course of the match.
