HOW IT HAPPENED

  • A huge defensive effort for Guilford, the contest was knotted 0-0 at the end of regulation. It was goalkeeper Ady Franken who kept her squad in the contest, racking up 14 saves through the first 90 minutes of the contest.

  • Franken continued to be strong as she made two more saves in the first overtime period to force a second.

  • The fourth period was over almost as quickly as it started, with the hosting Hornets finding the back of the goal in the second minute after a solid corner-kick.

  • Despite spending most of the contest on defense, the Quakers were able to put up three shots, two of which went on goal.

  • It was classmates McKaley Boston and Katie Kaznowski who one the on-goal attempts in the final contest of their collegiate careers.
