Box Score LYNCHBURG, VA. -- The sixth-seeded Guilford College women's soccer team closed out its season in double overtime at third-seeded Lynchburg University in the quarterfinal round of the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

A huge defensive effort for Guilford, the contest was knotted 0-0 at the end of regulation. It was goalkeeper Ady Franken who kept her squad in the contest, racking up 14 saves through the first 90 minutes of the contest.

Franken continued to be strong as she made two more saves in the first overtime period to force a second.

The fourth period was over almost as quickly as it started, with the hosting Hornets finding the back of the goal in the second minute after a solid corner-kick.

Despite spending most of the contest on defense, the Quakers were able to put up three shots, two of which went on goal.

It was classmates McKaley Boston and Katie Kaznowski who one the on-goal attempts in the final contest of their collegiate careers.
NEXT TIME
Guilford will begin its off-season on Wednesday with hopes of returning 17 student-athletes to its 2022 roster.
