CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Guilford College men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Royals Challenge hosted by Queens University on Friday afternoon.

Freshman Josephine Hemmer was the lone representative of Guilford's women's squad. Hemmer placed 151 out of 175 contestants with a time of 25:02.5, averaging a 8:03.5 mile time in the 8k event.

Rookie Nate Warden continues to lead the men's team, finishing 63-of-182. Warden finished with a time of 27:59.0, averaging a 5:37 mile time. Today's performance is five seconds faster than his last.

Senior Will Nowatka posted a time of 33:25.9, 41 seconds faster than his previous time and averaged a 6:43.5 mile time.

Rounding out the Quaker squad was Alex Rice. Rice finished with a time of 38:39.9 to place 174.
