In what was a scoreless first half, each team owned at least one solid chance at a goal.

For Guilford, Madison Green owned a shot in the opening minutes.

Ferrum's attempt came in the eighth minute off a freekick that rang off the crossbar.

The Panther's also had a near break away at 37:01, but Kayla Gumula had a big block near the goal line to keep the score knotted at zero.

To kickoff the second half, Claire Hill had a huge slide tackle to slow down the visitors and allow her squad time to retreat.

Guilford's goal was recorded by Crystal Rivas at 64:57. Rivas' tally was a ball that sailed beautifully through the sky and clean into the back of the net, undisturbed.

In another stunning defensive effort by the GC defense, Tiara Fisher stepped up at 72:48 with a defensive save to keep her team in the lead.

Hill had her second slide tackle of the contest with 3:10 remaining on the game clock. Her stop helped her team to a home turf win.
