GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Guilford College women's soccer team defeated Sweet Briar to close out the regular season in fashion, 8-0.

THE BASICS

• Records: Guilford 11-5-1 (4-4-1 ODAC) Sweet Briar 2-9-0 (0-8-0 ODAC), 

• Location: Appenzeller Field at the Armfield Athletic Center - Greensboro N.C.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• It took no time forGuilford to score, as Crystal Rivas was able to put the first point on the board less than 10 minutes elapsed.

• The Quakers were on the roll with scoring back to back as they were up by three.

• After a shot attempt by Madison Green, she was able to find the back of the net, followed by another goal from Rivas, ending the first half with a 5-0 lead.

• The second frame started with a goal by Mandy Lewis on the clock. 

• Rivas was on fire making her fourth goal in the game, 0-7.

• Morgan Nixon sent the ball into the net with a smooth assist from Rivas. The Quakers were able to take the win with 8-0.

QUAKERS' TOP PERFORMERS

• Crystal Rivas tallied four goals in the game, putting her at 13 season goals.  

• Madison Green's goal at 13:44 marks her seventh of the year.

• Mandy Lewis and Morgan Nixon both helped out with points today both scoring one. This was also Lewis' first goal in the season.

The Quakers have locked down the sixth-seed in the ODAC Tournament and will kick off post season play at third-seeded Lynchburg at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
