VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Guilford College women's soccer team fell to Virginia Wesleyan University on the road Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The hosting Marlins excelled behind balanced scoring, posting one goal in each half. 

• The Quakers had four shots on goal, each owned by a different athlete; Crystal Rivas, Mandy Lewis, Sarah Hall and Morgan Nixon.

• VWU saw to student-athletes receive yellow cards, while Kayla Gumula was also given one in the second half.

• Sophomore Ady Franken spent 90 minutes in goal.

QUAKERS' TOP PERFORMER

• Keeper Ady Franken posted a season and career-high 22 saves.
