LEXINGTON CITY, V.A. -- The Guilford College women's soccer team fell against Washington and Lee University Tuesday night by a score of 5-0. 

THE BASICS

• Score: Washington and Lee 5, Guilford 0

• Records: Washington and Lee 8-2-2 (3-1-2 ODAC), Guilford 7-4-1 (1-2-1 ODAC)

• Location: Watt Field - Lexington, V.A.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Guilford was able to keep the offensively strong W&L squad at bay for the opening eight minutes, but faltered at 8:59 when the hosts were able to put up their first score.

• GC was able to keep the contest close through the first half, only trailing by one entering the second frame. 

• The hosting Generals were able to put up four goals in the second half to pull away with their eighth victory of the season.

QUAKERS' TOP PERFORMERS

• Sophomore Ady Franken stood tall in goal, despite being peppered with 16 Generals' shots. Franken was able to make 11 stops during her 90 minutes played.

• Madison Green led her team's offense attempts with three on-goal shots.

• Crystal Rivas, Gracie Mayer and Kayla Gumula each owned an on-attempt.

Guilford remains on the road as it travels to Shenandoah University on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
