Guilford Drops 1-0 ODAC Women's Soccer Game To Bridgewater

Box Score

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Bridget Fabiani's unassisted goal in the 48th minute proved the difference in Bridgewater College's 1-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win at Guilford College Saturday night.

After a scoreless first half, the Bridgewater senior was unmarked when she collected a loose ball inside the penalty area. She launched a right-footed shot from 15 yards away that just cleared the outstretched arms of Guilford goalie Aubrey Gunther for her second goal of the season.

The tightly contested game saw just nine total shots total in the game, all in the second half. Most of the contest was played in the midfield with the Eagles (10-5-2, 6-2 ODAC) winning 52 percent of the possession. Guilford (6-7-2, 2-4-1 ODAC) managed four total shots but none were on target. Bridgewater had six of the game's seven corner kicks.

Guilford's Gunther made two saves in goal. Sydney Davis played all 90 minutes and was credited with the shutout for Bridgewater.

Coach Stephanie Webb's Quakers close their home schedule Wednesday against league-rival University of Lynchburg at 6:00 p.m.
