DANVILLE, Va. -- Huso Dukic scored 48 seconds into overtime as Averett University edged visiting Guilford College, 1-0, in nonconference men's soccer Friday night.

Dukic secured a loose ball in front of the Guilford net and shot the ball past Zach Van Kampen for the match's lone score. Sean Dunbar earned the assist on the play.

The Quakers dropped to 0-4 with the defeat. The Cougars are now 1-1-1. It was the second straight heartbreaking loss for the Quakers as they fell to Ferrum on Wednesday night in the 90th minute.

Van Kampen made two saves for the visitors. Ricky Aguilar fired three shots for Guilford.

Averett's Marius Olavesen stopped one Quaker shot.

Averett had the advantage in shots (21-4) and corner kicks (8-2).

The Quakers host cross-town rival Greensboro College on Sunday (9/10). Game time is 2 p.m. at the Armfield Athletic Center.
