STAUNTON, Va. - Guilford College's Makayla Carver tallied eight RBI over Sunday afternoon's doubleheader as the Quakers claimed a sweep over Mary Baldwin College. The Quakers claimed game one, 24-0, in five innings while taking the nightcap, 12-4.

The Quakers posted 24 runs on 24 hits with three Fighting Squirrels' errors in the first contest. The bottom third of Guilford's order combined to hit eight-of-12 and tallied nine RBI. Carver led the Quakers in game one, hitting four-for-five with five RBI including a home run that sparked Guilford's nine-run rally in the top of the third inning and added a two-RBI double one inning later.

Anna Wolfe hit three-for-four with two RBI and a pair of doubles as she accounted for three of the nine runs in the third inning. Taylor Boyd, Caroline Barnette, and Katy Holt tallied three RBI a piece as Holt boasted a three-for-three contest.

Mary Baldwin held a 3-2 lead after one inning of game two as the Quakers posted two runs in the top of the second inning thanks to a pair of RBI-doubles for Sarah Adams and Carver, reclaiming the lead. Adams notched Guilford's next run one inning later on a two-out home run. The Quakers put further distance between themselves and the Fighting Squirrels in the top of the seventh stanza with a seven-run rally, all coming with two outs. Adams and Carver came together once more, this time for a pair of two-RBI doubles to bolster Guilford's rally and secure the sweep.

Adams was the lone Quakers bat with three hits in the second contest, finishing three-for-four with three RBI. Carver tallied three RBI and two hits. Taylor Boyd added two doubles on her two-for-four effort in game two.

Courtney Lackey (5-1) took the game one win in a three-inning effort where she struck out five. Savanna Smith added one strike out in an inning of relief while Rebekah Langston pitched the final inning. Danielle Hunt (3-0) struck out 13 in a complete-game effort in game two.

The Quakers continue their road swing Wednesday, facing cross-town rival Greensboro College in a 2 p.m. doubleheader. The Quakers will be the road team at their home field, Haworth Field.
