Dillinger Leads Quakers Past Sweet Briar

SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Guilford College's Susan Dillinger tallied a goal and an assist as five different Quakers scored in Guilford's Wednesday afternoon Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over Sweet Briar College, 6-0.

The Quakers' three first-half goals came in a 9:58 stretch of first half as Guilford outshot Sweet Briar, 16-2, in the period. Kelsey Reilly started the rally thanks to an Ana Fokas cross from the right side in the 13th minute. Amber Hurst took a Dillinger feed 5:06 later to increase the lead. Dillinger earned her own tally 4:52 later as she played Reilly's missed shot off the crossbar into the goal as the Quakers carried a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Guilford started the second half on the right foot when Juliana Evans-Anfom tallied the first of her two assists on Dana Waskiewicz's goal in the 48th minute. After an own goal in the 78th minute, Evans-Anfom collected the second assist 3:01 later as she fed Morgan Sleeth, who finished the shot from 16 yards out, sealing the Quakers' victory.

The Quakers finished with a 35-2 edge in shots while maintaining a wide edge on corner kicks, 9-0.

Cheyenne Grim (4-2) made two saves in net in the first half. Maggie Albert finished the remainder of the contest. Sweet Briar's Caroline Thomas stopped 12 shots.

The Quakers (5-3, 2-1 ODAC) return home Friday, facing Lynchburg College for a 7 p.m. ODAC contest. Lynchburg is ranked 10th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Top-25 Poll.
