KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Junior Jessica Burcham fanned a school-record15 batters in Guilford College's 4-0 softball win over Thomas College Thursday at ESPN's Wide World of Sports. Burcham's school-record 10th career shutout, a two-hitter, capped the Quakers' (12-4) perfect spring break trip (6-0) and upped their winning streak to a season-high eight games.

Guilford, which has won 11 of 12, defeated Cedar Crest College earlier Thursday, 11-2, in five innings.

Thomas (4-5) managed only three baserunners against Burcham (7-0), who yielded two singles and a hit batsman. Kimberly Keys provided all the offense Burcham needed with a two-run single in the first. The Quakers added single runs on RBI hits by Morgan Andrews and Julie Langseth as Burcham twirled her 12th career game with 10 or more strikeouts. She struck out the side in the second, third and fourth innings.

Guilford downed Cedar Crest (1-4) for the second time in three days with 11 runs spread over five innings. The Quakers banged out 11 hits and took advantage of five Falcons' errors. Keys doubled and had three RBI. Cynthia Hayes and Courtney Kozar set the table with two hits apiece. Rookie Jessica Rowland (1-3) picked up her first college win with three strikeouts in three innings.

The Quakers return to Greensboro to open Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play with Randolph-Macon College Sunday (3/13) at 1:30 p.m.
